My baby turned 9 today.  NINE.  How did this happen?  I can clearly remember the day we brought him home from the hospital…and a whole lot of fabulous days in between.  This is it…the last year of single digit numbers…it makes me feel so old!  I love you so much Griffin…you are everything a mother could dream of, all wrapped into one!  Happy Birthday!

Usually, I am SO looking forward to spring…and better yet, summer!  I am so happy without the snow, cold, mud…all of the nastiness that goes with winter.  This year is a little different for me though…for as much as I welcome spring, and the longer days and warmer temperatures…it brings us one day closer to Ilaria going home to Italy.  I can’t quite imagine our lives without her anymore.  I know her family wants her back, and she’s just on loan to us…but we love her so much…it’s going to be so hard.

Here’s Parker & Griff…getting full enjoyment out of the first day of spring…not a care in the world.  Life is good today…

One day last week while the kids were in school, I decided we needed a little after school treat.  I’d never made crepes…so, decided to give it a go.  After posting for a recipe on facebook, and having a ton of awesome replies, I picked the one that seemed the quickest and easiest (thanks Dana), and whipped them up.  My kids were THRILLED!  Apparently, I AM the best mom in the world!!!

My friend Janelle got this adorable puppy a couple of weeks ago.  We all fell in love with her -she was such a sweetie.  On saturday, she passed away…apparently from a genetic problem…we’ll miss you Frankie.

I LOVE when I get to do the whole package with my birth clients!  By the time we’ve done the newborn photos, I feel like I have some fabulous new friends!  Meaghan & Jeff are just the greatest couple…and seriously, could they or baby Noah possibly be anymore photogenic?  I just LOVE these photos.  I’ve been waiting so long to get a newborn, and a daddy with some cool tat’s…so glad that I can finally cross this off my wishlist!  Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful time of your life with me you guys - I am totally honored to have shared it with you.

regrets…

I wish…oh how I wish I would’ve listened to him more.  My dad and I always had a good relationship…he was a great dad, and I always knew how much he loved me.  But, as we often do, I took it all for granted - thinking there would always be more time.  I am terrified now, that the time has passed.  No more chances to listen to his infinite wisdom.  I thank God that my kids got to spend the amazing time with him that they have…it has made a tremendous impact on their lives…and I am so glad that they are all old enough to always remember.  He has helped shape them into the men they will become - but, I want them to have more time with him…I want it SO bad…

I wish this summer, when we knew he was sick, and all he wanted to do was talk…and talk…more than he ever had before - even at 2:00 in the morning sometimes…that I would’ve just listened, and not been so short with him, and impatient.  I just never could’ve imagined, that someone could get so sick, so fast.  Right now, he’s lost in his own world.  The doctors say there is still hope, and I pray nightly, that we will have more time…but, this world that he’s in, is  not a pleasant one…and not one he deserves.  My dad has been the most honest, kind man, for his whole life - and I just don’t understand why he has to fight yet another fight…when he should just be able to rest.  I’m so sorry dad…for all the times that I didn’t listen, and for all the chances I missed to tell you how much I love you, and appreciate all that you’ve done for me.  I do hope you know…
