Friends, Fun, and LOTS of photos!

My cousin from Alberta & her three daughters, and my friend Jodi and her four kids just came and spent four days at our cabin with us.  Ten kids, and three moms…and SO much fun!  The weather was perfect…the kids had a blast…totally what memories are made of.  We spent lots of time talking & taking photos…as well as a quick trip to Dunleavy Ranch to pick some AMAZING fresh corn - thanks Steven…the corn was FANTASTIC!  Jodi, Terri & I are hoping to make this an annual event…see you next year guys!

Jen, Al & Hayden are anxious to meet the newest member of the family…won’t be long now!  I’m excited as well, as I will get to share in their joy by photographing the birth of the new babe…sure hope it’s quick & easy Jen - you deserve it!!!

not the best weather…

Okay, now that I’ve been home for four days, and have seen & felt the sun again, I’m good to post this!  We went on holidays for a week…and the weather SUCKED!  I had visions of all the amazing pics I was going to shoot - and instead, spent my time trying to find fun things to do indoors.  We first went to Squamish & Vancouver…where the weather was just beginning to get nasty.  Our hopes of spending a day on the beach in Vancouver & having fish & chips in Steveston was not meant to be.  We then picked up my friend Leanne and her two boys from England, and headed up to Whistler.  It was FREEZING!  Leanne & I were both forced to buy new coats in Lululemon (so…all was not lost!).  Seriously though, it was too cold to even swim in the hotel pool - Griff was the only one brave enough!  Then off to Penticton, to hang with our great friends the Goodalls and the Neufelds.  Umm…yay - record rainfall in Penticton - who knew it could even rain that hard?  Thank God for good company though…we still had fun.  And…the photographer in me just couldn’t come home without something fun - so…off  to the beach we went.  If you look closely - you’ll see we were the ONLY one’s on the whole beach.  Who cares though - this is what memories are made of (easy for me to say, I was under the umbrella, in my new lululemon coat…thanks Brian, for taking the boys swimming!

an excerpt from The Fox and the Hound…a movie my friend Leanne & I saw together when we were  13 (we’d already been friends for a few years)…and we promised that day, that we would indeed be friends forever.  Even though Leanne moved to England when she was 18, and we’ve never even lived in the same town together…she means more to me than words could ever say.  I look so forward to our once a year visits - and can’t believe how we always manage to catch up on a whole year, in just a few short days.  There’s never enough time…but I always feel so satisfied at the end of our visits - I guess that’s just how it is with good friends - a little can go such a long way.  It’s been 32 years now that we’ve been friends…wow  - where does the time go?  Thanks so much for hanging out in Whistler with me & all of our boys - it couldn’t have been more perfect.  I love you Leanne…

a crazy busy week!

It started off Saturday, with Lyndsay and Geoff’s wedding…they looked FABULOUS!  There are so many good shots you guys - this will have to do for your sneak peak until I get back!

The next night, photograhed a beautiful family - grandkids and all…but, I think I’ll hold off on blogging, as they are RCMP members, so maybe best not to…

Monday morning was a redo of Will’s newborn photos…he decided he still wasn’t sleepy, but I think we captured his cuteness just as well with his big eyes open!

Monday night…I had a fabulous time photographing my FABULOUS hairdresser Natasha, and her dog Bean.  We’d been planning this shot for a long time, and they turned out just as I had envisioned they would - I’m so happy we captured these photos for you Natasha!

Tuedsay night I had a cancellation, as my client fell of her horse and got a concussion - so I hope you’re feeling much better, and look forward to doing your shots in a couple of weeks.  I also had my first ever mammogram on Tuesday (nope, no photos…), but, it’s important, and I urge you to get this done if you’re a woman and over 40.  It wasn’t that bad, and now I’m good for a couple of years!  Wednesday…edited photos ALL day…a lot of editing to do right now!

Thursday morning, Jenni, Jimmy, Wyatt and beautiful baby Sydney came for Sydney’s newborn photos - they’re home from Qutar, so I was thrilled to get a chance to see them - even if it was only a quick visit.  Sydney was great, and I know you’ll have a hard time choosing her photos!

Right after Sydney’s photo shoot, I went down and set up my display at the Gecko Tree…I’m so excited to have my photos featured there for the next six weeks - so if you’re in town, please go in and have a look - product photography is not my thing, but here’s a couple of quick shots…Finally, on Thursday night, I did maternity photos for Melanie…she is so cute, with one of the best baby bumps I’ve seen!  Can’t wait to share your birth with you…and meet your new baby girl!

 

Okay…that’s it!  I’m on holidays for awhile…only photos of my kids for the next two weeks!
