A Girl!

I have known Leigh forever.  Our moms were friends before she was born.  Between her and I - we have 7 boys!  We’ve always talked about how amazing boys are, how much fun - and occasionally, how sometimes it would be an okay thing to not be the only girl in the house.

There are really no words to describe the joy I felt for Leigh when I found out her gorgeous belly bump was indeed a baby girl!  This family of incredible boys is so lucky to add some pink to the mix, and I know Lauren’s big brothers are going to take great care of her…

RAW!

I recently saw a posting on Facebook that a lady was looking for someone to host a raw food cooking class.  I’ve learned a bit about raw from my brother, and have had a few pretty amazing raw meals, so I thought it would be fun to give it a try.

The food  was absolutely fabulous - I would’ve never guessed it could taste so good!  I know that I’ll never go 100% raw…but, I truly believe in giving my kids as much knowledge as possible about nutrition, so that they’ll hopefully make wise choices for themselves in the future.  We had a great group of ladies here today, and I think we were all more than pleasantly surprised.  Deborah Tobin did a great job of teaching…and by the end of the day, we were all feeling very full!

Deb showed up early to do all of the prep work…

We started the day with a great cucumber facial scrub, that felt awesome (and I didn’t photograph!)

Then we had some pretty amazing green smoothies…

while Deb was preparing the dessert, we all browsed through the great cookbooks she brought along & we each ordered one too!

The final menu included…chocolate chili  tacos with marinated arugula, pear tomatoes, and pignoli sour cream (omg…amazing!).  Dessert was chocolate cream pie - and I guarantee…there is NO WAY you would ever know that avacados are the main ingredient!  We also had goji coconut balls - pretty awesome!

Caitlin & Greg

I had a great time shooting Caitlin & Greg’s engagement photos yesterday…the light was beautiful, and they’re just such a fun, relaxed couple to spend time with. I’ve known Caitlin since I was the secretary at her elementary school…I think it was about 100 years ago?? She was one of my boy’s favorite babysitters, and is now a teacher at the high school my boys attend. How times flies. Greg is a fellow photographer and newspaper sports reporter - so, we never lack for conversation. I can’t wait to shoot their gorgeous Italian wedding in Kamloops this summer…it’s easy to see - they photograph very well!

I’ve been so lucky to work with Liz Bradley at Halftone Media on my wedding albums.  Her work is amazing…excited to share Duncan & Natasha’s album here on my blog!

Rylee Rae

So excited to see Rylee Rae again after shooting her newborn photos two years ago…how adorable is she?!

Also - a huge thanks to her mom Echo for this great review I found on my new Facebook business page…talk about bringing a huge smile to my face.  Hopefully next time, I’ll travel to see them!

Laureen captures the greatest moments in time, the pictures she has taken of my daughter have all been breath taking. There is a reason I drive a 1000 miles to have her take our pictures, she produces great work and loves what she does.

Rylee Rae

So excited to see this little one again after almost two years!  I was lucky to be able to do her newborn photos as she was born here two years ago…but she lives 16 hours away.  What a happy surprise when her mom contacted me to see if I could do photos of her again while they were visiting in town.  Could she possibly be cuter?

Katie & Tyler…

Despite wickedly cold temps & some serious windchill…I totally loved shooting Katie & Tyler’s engagement photos over Christmas break.  Their gorgeous chocolate lab with her red bow was just the perfect prop!  Super excited for their wedding this summer…

another Polar Bear Swim!

omg - it was SOOOOO cold!  This was the 4th year for Parker, and the 1st year for Keaton…seriously - I think if you start your year jumping in a hole in a frozen lake, the rest of the year can only get better!

2012 will be a year with some big changes for me - I’m excited, and looking forward to seeing where it all leads.  Happy New Year to you all!
